About Swabalamban

SWBBL was promoted by the Centre for Self-help Development (CSD) together with Nepal Investment Bank, Himalayan Bank and Nabil Bank; it was registered on 5 October 2001 and began operations on 14 January 2002 under a Nepal Rastra Bank license. It evolved from the Self-help Banking Program (launched 1993) that delivered microcredit and savings to deprived women on a group-guarantee basis. The institution serves members through roughly 145 branch offices across 61 working districts and all seven provinces. Its mission is delivering sustainable microfinance services at the doorstep of deprived-sector target communities.
