About First

First Microfinance Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. began operations in early January 2010 (BS 2066 Poush 24) as a national-level wholesale lending microfinance institution licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank. Headquartered at Charter Tower, Gyaneshwor, Kathmandu, it provides term, working-capital, agricultural, and tailor-made wholesale loans to NRB-licensed MFIs and registered cooperatives, which in turn on-lend to low-income and marginalized people. Its paid-up capital is about Rs. 1,344.87 million and it is listed on NEPSE under the symbol FMDBL. Because it is a wholesale lender, it does not collect member savings or offer retail fixed deposits.
