About Wean Nepal
Wean Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. was incorporated in 2070 BS (2013) and licensed as a Class "D" financial institution by Nepal Rastra Bank in 2071 BS, commencing operations in 2071 BS (2014). The institution later expanded through a merger (with Nepal Seva Laghubitta and Wean Laghubitta entities) and operates under the philosophy of "banking with development tools," targeting poverty alleviation. It serves members through micro-savings, micro-loans, micro-insurance, remittance and digital services, with a network of 21 branches across districts including Sindhupalchok, Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Kavre, Dhading, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur and Kathmandu. Lending is directed at low-income and deprived-sector members, with interest-rate concessions for Dalit, freed bonded laborers (Mukta Kamaiya), Badi, Haliya, disaster victims, single women, the disabled and elderly.
